LEVEL 1 BRIDGING COURSE  DURBANVILLE

The SSA bridging content was designed for candidates that would like to follow the coaching pathway and not teach swimming. The purpose of the bridging course is to create a pathway to the level 1 coaching course if you are not in possession of a valid Learn to swim certificate. There are certain units within the LTS course that are important for the coach to understand so that they are familiar with the basics of swimming and to be more effective in their coaching journey.

Pre-requisites
● Must be able to swim at least 25m back survival, 25m side survival and 25m of any World Aquatics recognised stroke.
● The letter of swimming competency must be signed by an SSA accredited and registered swim teacher.
● Must be 18+ years of age.
● Must have passed grade 11
● Certified ID copy
● Signed copy of the Risk assessment declaration

In achieving this certification, the candidate will not have the competency required to operate as a teacher or coach. The certificate can only be used as a pathway to do the level 1 swimming coaching course.
